Asd I don't think you actually like music anyways with your four 5's, two being bjork albums and one a pokemon ost. check Tokyo Shoegazer - Crystallize for fuzz

'if it had tight pop structures to the songs it wouldn't work well imo'

it's just heavily obscured by the gazing of the shoe

it kinda does but it's very obscured by the fuzz. it does have pop structures more than any other genre I'd say. they aren't tight and clear though like with electronic pop. I guess I mean if the structures were more clear it wouldn't work as well because it would be less gazey. the repetition is to the benefit of the album as well I think

the repetition just highlights how boring the melodies are :[

nah I love them so much they could repeat on forever. asd have you heard Isn't Anything and You Made Me Realise? those are their signature work imo, especially Realise. that ep was what they were known for before this monstrosity was released

I think asdf has it right. The repetition makes a lot of the melodies overstay their welcome, especially on some of the longer tracks.

-_- you are impossible to please. that's almost nothing. I always found it odd how the mantle is Agalloch's most popular album but pale and ashes are better I think

Glee's music is also enthralling

I mean, let's be honest, the biggest problem with Asdfp's taste is that he rates Glee's soundtrack above the likes of King Crimson's best work. Him being unimpressed with what is essentially a heavily distorted pop rock album shouldn't be too surprising.

OMG you gotta do it dude! ashes consumed me for about a year solid. maybe wait for the fall/early winter season for that one though. I had it at a 5 for years but it wore off after I listened to it so many times. might bump it back up eventually. ashes is iconic I think, it's one of the best albums of the time period. mantle is good and marrow sucks. pale is what I usually listen to by them in the last few years
