My question is why why why why the motherfucking shit does every goddamn metalcore band need to turn into an anthemic arena alt-rock band? There are so many other genres to expand your sound toward, but 90% of the big metalcore groups do this shit. And none of them are fucking good at it!

This isn't even a copypasta. I'm just dumbfounded as to how people enjoy that stuff tbh

the simple answer is that it sells

people on forums and blogs and music sites hate it, but the general population doesn't care and eats it up

I guess I just wanna know who buys it, that's all, considering how boring and watered down it is

well there's always gonna be an audience for something, and i personally think the change is fine in most cases. it's really not that bad because a lot of times, these bands have better vocals than the bands they're taking a lot of cues from, and they've always had a good knack for melodies. and it's weird how these albums get so much pushback to me, how exactly is a band to take a simple structure and arrangement musically and make it like, really pretentious and "original" enough for y'all? what is the real difference between something like In Motion and a track like Paper Lung other than the latter having a chunkier production style and being performed at a lower tuning? 🤔🤔🤔
