The new song is decent, might grow on me with repeated listens but it's kind of solidifying my prediction that the next one is gonna be something like a pop rock Era Vulgaris, and that ...Like Clockwork was a watershed moment for the band essentially being Homme's sensitive singer-songwriter album.

Yeah the new track might work better in the context of the album, but on its own it feels underwhelming. Hopefully it grows. Based on the excerpt from Feet Don't Fail Me, it sounds like it would make a much better single than this song.
