Potsy, Obfuscation is paced pretty well. I agree about their songwriting problems, but that track seems like one you'd at least be able to appreciate more than most because of its logical structure.

I disagree. All Bodies, Backwards Marathon, Sun of Nothing, Roboturner, The Primer, Prequel to the Sequel fuck most of the pre TGM stuff flows well imo. Their songs aren't even hard to follow, they are very rememberable to me.

Thanks bro, I've just been listening to this band for a long time now. Alot of their songs are drawn out but I think they're enjoyable and easy to follow. The structures seem fine to me, but they do tend to do the heavy soft heavy thing alot.

swim to the moon is the only disjointed song on this album, and it really brings it down

and most of their stuff flows, sure they just do riff after riff after riff but they flow the riffs together well most of the time especially on Alaska

They certainly seem to be sporadic for the sake of being sporadic

I agree, Backwards Marathon, The Primer, Roboturner, and Selkies are great songs as a whole. If you can dig Colors I think that album is a prime example of their ability as songwriters. Of course there's tons of riffs in their songs but I think it works well with Tommy's stream of consciousness type lyrics.

If they did a compilation then all the sick riffs would be gone and I wouldn't listen to it. There's hasn't been anything I really ever disliked until TGM.

yea there arent enough riffs on this album. like the beginning of disease injury madness is probably my fav part of the album cause of the sick riffage

That was the only song on here I used to like. I hated Fossil Genera but even that one has grown on me recently

I wasn't really into it at all when it came out. But I've been listening to it a bit lately and I'm really enjoying it.
