Vid is pretty lolworthy...

Also, MJ's lack of vitamin K from the sunlight was pretty obvious whenever he talked about this album.

If I don't like an album's lyrics I won't rate anything higher than a 4, and that's only if I can only imagine it being a five with better lyrics. Otherwise yeah it usually sits at a 3.5 stoop.

I can rarely get really attached to an album with bad lyrics because it's a huge chunk missing from the album itself (i.e., I feel really stupid/not "in it" when listening to Metric's new album because it's so fucking cheesy and lackluster lyrically)

I just think whatever philosophical qualities the lyrics are apparently supposed to possess are non-existent. I love the vocals, the energy, the constant dabbling with aspects of other music, the passion of it, the intensity, the beauty behind the ambient-post-rock sections and even the main recurring melodic theme that springs up randomly at different points on the album. However, I think the lyrics are way too 'out there'. As deep as they may be, there are certain lines that just make no sense at all, though Drew and Kathy deliver those lines well enough to ignore the sometimes obvious ridiculousness of the lyrical content.

yeah it's got a guy and a girl. the random acoustic interludes are a little annoying but it's awesome.
