This is a weird one. It has some really great songs, but gets pretty disjointed and awkward at times. I'd say it's their most inconsistent along with the debut. Interestingly I hear similarities/influence on Tool in the first two songs, especially that part in the t/t being similar to the Lateralus verses.

Tied with Counterparts as their weakest for me. I dig the cheerful vibe but, like Counterparts, some songs aren't particularly engaging. Still, like Counterparts, good album. Definitely underrated to an extent.
Favorites: t/t, Driven, Half the World, Time and Motion, Limbo. I find Dog Years' chorus to be annoying, but that bass slide in the intro around ~7 seconds gets me pumped and I also dig Geddy's vocals in the verses. Carve Away the Stone has a bit of an emotional chorus but it's a bit repetitive too. There, a bit of love for the album :D

Pretty much agreed, and Totem is a favorite of mine too. As wacky as it is, I really enjoy listening to it haha
I really like Counterparts. It's my favorite of theirs after HyF until the three most recent 2000s albums.

I find Counterparts inconsistent in the sense that I absolutely love some songs but don't care too much for others. It's a weird album, kinda... butt rocky? Idk how to express my feelings haha. Some lyrics also rub me the wrong way too.
Animate, Between Sun & Moon and Cold Fire are the three that I absolutely love

Holy fucking shit ..you two clowns get out of Rush Park. Go back to Haggen-Dazs and make milk shakes where you belong....”tied with counterparts as their weakest for me”......please...
Counterparts is their third best album.
