finally had time to sit down and absorb this, really really enjoy it. in particular it just feels like a very "fun" or "unserious" take on a genre that often takes itself very serious

Oh yeah it's great popcorn death metal

that extra synth/guitar layering at the end of Red Goliath really elevates it from good -> great

"this is just silly"
At this point it should be considered intentional. It's like they're lampooning the genre; taking its tropes and pushing them to an almost comedic limit. I don't take this record seriously at all. But I also think it's damn good.

I don't think this album is silly at all. I think the people in this band don't take themselves too seriously, but the dedication to the craft here musically is next level.

I'd say it's silly in the same way that Mozart was silly when fucking around with Salieri's music.

I haven't come across a metal album in a very long time where every single song has a memorable hook, melody or harmony. it's an insanely easy listen, which is what these guys need imo.
loved relentless mutation, but bleed the future had almost nothing memorable about it for me. this thing is filled with sick leads and riffs. but most importantly, the moments where they scale it back and let the songs breathe does wonders for the album
gonna enjoy this for a while

@hawks I just said I like Relentless Mutation more than this lol. Sound was good and inventive back then, but now it's becoming stale and predictable
