i feel like since nothing here is morally objectionable to me the absolute lowest rating I could give it if i disliked it was 1.5 because i am NOT taking points away from the really solid drumming on this record, no matter how many times trap beats take center stage (which I don't hate them like everyone else does tbh)

The singles were p awful but opener was decent just 3x too long, and I dug Dangerous. The rest I can’t even remember. Caramel is an actual atrocity.

fair enough lol even then 1/5 feels far too uncharitable to the instrumentalists who clearly worked hard on this imo feel however u want i just don't like being too mean when i know this is at least more ambitious than most of what my IRLs love lol

I’ve only listened to it a couple times thus far. I’m definitely enjoying it, but it’s not on par with Take Me Back to Eden or This Place Will Become Your Tomb. The standout tracks for me are Look to Windward, Emergence, Dangerous, Even in Arcadia (gorgeous song), and Infinite Baths might be one of their best. Not sure what to rate it yet. Leaning towards a 4.

Take me to Eden had some p good parts and maybe like 3 good songs for me but it suffered from so much bad songwriting and bloat it completely wiped any desire to return because the good was too buried in shit for the most part.
This Place was offensively boring to me that album actually made me angry lol

This Place is actually my wife’s favorite by them. As someone who has been a fan of theirs since the beginning TMBTE is hard to top. Hypnosis is still my favorite track by them.
