"I thought there might at least be a few decent melodies"

there are beautiful melodies all over this, I'm sorry you can't hear them

I'm not sure what to make of this yet. I suppose it's just what to expect from from Alcest. It's neither better nor worse than their previous material.

"this how alcest been after shelter, good summary, demon"

hmm, seems my work is incomplete unless I check their earlier stuff then

thought I'd heard Écailles de lune but cannot recall / don't have it rated

L'Envol is just wonderful. I wasn't convinced after the opener that this would be my type of thing but that second track really pushed me through the rest of the album. Where should I go with these guys next? Pretty much brand new

This is a really nice addition to the discography, but since Alcest really hit hard with the debut, Ecailles, Shelter and Kodama, it's hard to follow these up. This is probably just below these album, like SI was.

The little Navi sounds right at the start of the album was such a weird choice, I still can't tell if I love it or hate it lmao

Surprised to see this rating as high as Kodama and Ecailles here. Based on the first couple of listens it just strikes me as a somewhat less inspired version of those. I'm enjoying it as music to work to but very little of it pulls my attention away from what I'm doing (which is great for my work but less so as far as there being anything that stands out on this album)

Komorebi and L'Envol (particularly the former) have left me a little cold after the first couple of playthroughs, but things really get going and don't let up from Amethyste 'til the end.

Enjoying a second spin now. The opener is definitely weak. I almost wish that L'Envol had been the first track on the album because the album really kicks off there.
