Venin from my perspective you’re kinda missing the point. Singing is not the problem. It’s the bad execution of it. I love singing choruses in metalcore from acts that do it well. In fact they’re some of my favorite bands. But the genre devolved into “sing as high as you can(t)” and half these dudes can’t do it, push their registers too far, auto tune, and just generally sing annoying melodies. And it’s been done TO DEATH. That’s the problem. It’s why I actually like what TDWP is doing cause Jeremy stopped doing that shit and actually sings reasonable melodies that aren’t abused. However as you can see that’s also not everyone’s cup of tea. To each their own
Tl;dr stop with the god awful cleans

the core scene would be so much better if 70% of the bands in it would be like "Hold up, maybe we don't let our singer tack on this corny ass chorus he's really not cooking that hard"

@nash - I didn't like TDWP's cleans much starting with Plagues but I loved Jeremy's vocals on Dear Love specifically because of what you said. He wasn't autotuning them to high heavens and singing way above what he should've been. It worked well for the music and that post-2007 era is when I started to fall off new metalcore hard. Couldn't take all the super whiny, overly autotuned choruses with the reverb turned up to 10.

This album sounds like Misery Signals trying to go "radio friendly" for like Sirius XM or some shit. Singing should be used to amplify the songs not as a crutch for song structure

Ehhh, I'm hard on the cleans but to be fair there are only like two songs that have a traditional clean chorus structure, the rest either have none or use them briefly during verse sections, which is fine imo.
