I like the new one a lot and I love the violins. But I do kinda wish the riffs weren't taking such a backseat. The last album was kinda headed in that direction too

new one is very good but didnt blow me away. agree with Eakflanderyof, the riffs (and drums for that matter too) take too much of a backseat, and the mix is a bit off. the violins and animal noise feel like they are on top of everything else. closer track feels closer to a disney track than a peice of epic black metal. those aside its still panopticon so....

yeah production is off for sure. way too many peaks in the higher midranges to my liking. Musically very interesting track 1 though. Not sure I'm in the headspace to check in full now though.

Production could've been a lot better. Also sounds really compressed and thumpy in a way I do not enjoy. Usually love how clean his records sound, there the abundance of mid range is less of an issue for me
