whaaaaaa? There’s a ‘ban list’? Low-key agreed on Colton if that’s the reasoning too. I think he’s just seen as a persistent pain in the arse, but like I don’t think people generally get banned for that. I’d have been culled a long time ago if that were the case

nope I was banned instantly. and honestly the ban was never something I contested much or protested. I have said multiple times it’s understandable. however, when I try to comment about an album and I’m met with comments like



“You’re such a joke to many on this site, that you’re the can begging to be kicked. I don’t think anybody is going to make you suddenly own up to your bullshit. The longer you drag it out, the more of a joke you are.”



or



“Lmao awe lil sis I literally called that this was exactly what you were gonna do about that list the minute you posted it. The only real question is whether your predictable narcissistic behaviour is desperation trolling for the trickle of precious attention you were depraved of as a child or you’re actually so deeply insecure and devoid of self awareness that you’ve fed this snowballing delusion of victimhood and martyrdom this long just to protect your fragile little mole man ego from the reality-shattering blow of being near-unanimously disliked on the worlds least relevant music site on earth. I personally think the latter”

My reading was that the ban was triggered by persistently taking credit for the site crash which, given the commitment to the joke, made some think he actually did it or, even if it didn’t, was in such poor taste (relative to the stress and work that the site crash caused - deleted accounts, reviews, comments, half of the year end feature in draft, the entire forums and associated basic site features etc etc) and appeared to genuinely upset quire a few users, that it was a ‘for the avoidance of doubt = ban’ decision.



Whilst again Staff get no say in ban duration, my sense was it would have lasted a fortnight to a month if he hadn’t continued to (a) make alts, circumventing the ban and (b) use those alts to make the same jokes that got him banned. Now the ban appears to be based almost entirely on his continued alts, rather than the original trigger, hence my advise that if you just lay low for a few weeks and take it on the chin then things may quickly change in your favour.

it was so blatantly obvious that it was a joke i went out of my way to make it clear but this site has the most gullible userbase on earth i swear to god

I have no skin in the game in the sense that I don’t think Colton and I have ever interacted on the site, and i personally would have no aversion to him/you (hi Colton51) coming back as the more people that love music that are on the site the better, but it’s a two way street. I appreciate some of the violent hate he/you are getting is disproportionate, but showing a little remorse (of which, again as soemone with no skin in this game, I’ve personally not seen any of) would go a long way towards rebuilding bridges with both the mods (who the constant ban whackamole is probably a chore) and the users that were actually upset by the situ.
