I still don’t know about this scream style with lyrics like some of these. It sounds like Greg’s about to have an aneurism because someone didn’t his call ass back in when playing dodgeball

riffs for days on this, Jordan always delivers
I don't understand the Greg's criticism, although in fairness I don't pay attention to the lyrics, but the vocals work for me

ya gregs lyrics have never been great, I love how fucking batshit he can be and then randomly throw in the most beautiful vocal melody you’ve heard in years, and then back to screaming in your face.

I ended up reading the lyrics for this EP and they looked serviceable to me, Shakespeare it ain't but to call them cringe or ludicrous I can't say I understand

It’s largely just because of the simplicity in their rage combined with the melodrama of the style. Like, to me, it just feels like he’s going so hard about something that feels like their should be more to what he’s saying

Kinda unsure about this record. Don't think I like it as much as the reviewers (yet?). Production is nice though.

played their first show last night... setlist consisted of this entire ep, two yet to be released songs, and a cover of soundgarden's "rusty cage"

I think I enjoyed this EP more than I’ve ever enjoyed Dillinger or ETID…
Edit: disclaimer I have not spent tons of time with either and there might just be a bit of new release hype in this comment

Definitely dig this more than most Etid but always thought they were kinda overrated anyway raises shield

Dillinger has 5/5 material though

They both do but Dillinger > ETID.
Keith is really the only thing I like more about ETID and even then it’s just his lyrics. Greg is far and away a better vocalist.

I understand that context matters, but take away all the DEP/ETID/Putney stuff and this still a really solid release.

Totally agree. I guess I for sure have some bias but track one has a kick ass chorus and the rest has some kick ass riffs.
Nah nvm fuck that. If I was taking their reputation into consideration I’d 5 this. This is just a good ass taste tester for what this band has in store for us, mark my words
