I only saw Moonlight once and it was ok, but it also seemed really Oscar-baity

idk, I might have to rewatch it and see if my opinion's changed

I thought Moonlight's first and second acts were way stronger than the last act

It was definitely Oscar-baity. I liked it but it was a bit disappointing after how much hype it got. The adult section was significantly weaker than the other sections imo.

If you like creepy 24 year old grad students coercing oddly pretentious-17 year olds into sexual relationships in a fancy rich people Italy setting, I’m sure it’s great

Tbf, I've definitely enjoyed Oscar/Cannes-bait movies myself. In fact, Blue is the Warmest Colour was one of my favorite movies of the 2010s

Too bad the director's behavior behind the scenes pretty much ruined it for me now. Oh well

I have not seen Weekend, will have to add to my list though

Last gay movie I say was The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, but I don’t know if that counts as “that type” cuz it’s quite different

It's really not that grossly problematic, but idk why they wouldn't just make them a couple years older or something
