common dreads whips ass. maybe two songs here that can compete with anything on that very rad album
kinda thought i was immune to not really vibing with a shikari album but this has been a big "anything is possible" year in both good and bad directions lmao. flash flood was their easy worst before this but this has only made that album look better

Flash Flood stomps this for sure. Sucks cause I was super excited for this after they dropped pls set me on fire, which I do still love

one of the most tragically misleading singles ive ever heard
dead wood and leap into the lightning are still pretty cool but like dead wood was a nothing is true era instrumental which explains why its so much better than the majority of this unfort

Flash Flood / Mindsweep was the best Shikari era for me. I got excited for absolutely everything they did, and their live shows were fire! I mean they still are, but I preferred their heavier sets from back then, the energy and atmosphere was unbeatable.

But yeah obvs Dead Wood is a Nothing Is True b side and even has the lyrics to match (ill never depend on you when nothing is true) so this feels like a transition album to the next era more than anything. At their rate of collabs it almost feels like it is time for Enter Shikaris Gorillaz Humanz era. Theyd do it better than Gorillaz did.

I definetly agree on the trantional album thing

The collab singles are fun but I miss when their music had a bit more substance. They're kinda stuck in a bit of a lull right now. Insert a dnb techno beat, catchy anthemic chorus, heavy bit/bridge and jobs a good one.

Must agree that the Flash Flood/Mindsweep era was incredible for their live shows. I caught them in 2016 and it was one of the best and most energetic shows I've ever been to. I think Flash Flood is their peak but they really could do no wrong from 2007-2015 for me. Common Dreads deserves more love too.

Flash Flood is fab but Common Dreads has aged like ass in my opinion. Definitely had some cool ideas but the album feels rough and all over the place, I know that's an unpopular opinion though lol. Common Dreads songs in a live setting though, that's a different story! That 2007 - 2015 era was easily the best time to be a Shikari fan.

i dont mind it rlly just never hooked me
that and imo thatd be the perfect spot to slot in the colossal colossal banger of all eyes on the saint which i cannot fathom how they left that off
