Most rymers today are kids and young adults chasing the same flavour-of-the-week viral dragon as the Fantano crowd. Their hype circuit is erratic and their scores on anything metal or electronic need a whole shaker's worth of salt - work out how to use the database effectively and it'll keep you going for life, but anything from the last 5ish years with more than 1k votes is hit or miss for reliability

No their newer metal scores are based because they are rarely high

This is one of the biggest surprises I’ve had in recent years, for a band who were almost completely off my radar. I think their early BM is very good for what it is (esp Frost and Monumuension, which is definitely on the more progressive side), but Below The Lights onwards is an incredible run of albums. Watching a few interviews with Ivar and Grutle just made me like the band more, too. They seem completely in to it.

as far as I'm aware there's only one close to reliable way to determine how good a metal album actually is on the internet, and that's actually just to take the sputnik score and minus .5 off of it
