I wanna know what Pika thinks of this.

Also, this isn’t out yet so I’m even more shocked people who don’t even like this went to the trouble to download it lol

"This is a decent August Burns Red album but they’re sounding pretty lifeless and their breakdowns have suffered."

Sounds more like misery signals to me but interesting take

“The band leaked it themselves last week lol”

Pretty based, I’ll have to check this out but I’ve never listened to the band before

This is fine metalcore. My take on this is this: Counterparts dont reinvent the wheel but in a landscape of metalcore bands BMTH/Architects clones or current metalcore bands either shitting the bed or adopting Nu-metal influences, its a good reminder of what metalcore should be. Tldr: They dont reinvemt the wheel, but they made a damn good wheel

I think the point of comparing them to ABR is more to insult them than to be strictly academic

Comparing Counterparts and ABR lmao, call me when ABR will do a song with as much emotion as a single Counterparts verse.

(I like both band btw)

ABR is bad now because they haven't changed their sound since R&R or something. I haven't really read up on their last album's thread since it came out. These guys lean more to the Core in Metalcore and ABR lean more into the Metal but it's not the most absurd comparison I've heard.

To be honest I might be able to agree ABR and Counterparts have similarities specifically when speaking to Melodies. Otherwise it pretty much ends there lol.

But also I can understand someone comparing them when they don’t listen to either extensively
