'Yeah this is something I always suspect. We're on a site where people are frequently trying to out-snark and out-edge each other but they all happen to arrive at the same opinion regarding The Beatles? Not sure about that one.'
do they? Hmm. I'm 'unique enough' to be rather underwhelmed by The Beatles and therefore (according to this thread), I may legitimately be authorised to exercise the freedom-of-thought to find this genuinely enjoyable.

Ps production and engineering on this is superb, leagues above any of their contemporaries in terms of capturing detail whilst maintaining a ‘live’ sound.

These guys are to metal what Gershwin was to classical music during the early 20th century.
Agreed about the production being superb.
About to 5 this not kidding. This may be a very important cult album at some point. Maybe even the Fas of this decade(nce). What DsO did opening the gates of obscure metaphysics and theological matters through music these guys have done with these times of uncertainty and volatility derived from (moral) decadence and capitalist degeneracy.

'To your point, I believe the last Mamaleek (spelling?) record is where I feel the 'ugliness for the sake of ugliness' goes too far and breaks immersion.'

OK, I see I have the tag team to tackle this morning.
Is it 'dumb' to suggest there is a *possibility* of people not genuinely liking 'classic' records?

No, there is no rule that you have to like classic records lol. I personally dislike a lot of the classics.
|

no and more people should do it
it is however extremely dumb to single out the Beatles as the classic band universally revered across all online discourse

I was disagreeing with the notion that The Beatles represent some sort of hive opinion where Sput is concerned, as clearly we don't all agree. It was Pon's comment.
Then I was admittedly being a bit silly by saying that being so unique as to not accept The Beatles brilliance allows me the individualism required to genuinely like something so unfathomably unlikeable such as this.
Not sure why I bothered to explain myself, Mars getting allowances here

While using the Beatles as an example is probably not the best, I believe the spirit of Jac's comment isn't exactly off base.
