Hes right that there is a high level of homophobia in many minority communities, which also happen to have a relatively large concentration of Christians, Muslims etc.
The rap community has been, historically, homophobic. It's not a race thing. Like, being a minority doesn't make you a homo or transphobe by virtue of genetics lol.
It's probably more to do with tight knit godfearing communities with a unique social conservatism that have either had to or been forced to isolate in their own areas as time has passed.
Now saying all rappers are homophobic to make your point isn't going to go very far but I guess it's provocative and gets people going.
In any case I liked this album it had some good songs, some of which I replayed as they ended. Gkmc will always be my fav but I've never expected he would top that.

TPAB is his best, but I find it difficult to listen to because it is so big in scope and heavy in nature. I think this strikes a good balance of being ambitious while also being approachable. It's more interesting DAMN and easier to return to than TPAB. Don't know where it's gonna fall in my rankings of his albums, but I like it a lot still after five listens

I think this is def more ambitious than DAMN like no question but I don't think that's a positive when a lot of those attempts at something great fall flat imo.
The best stuff here is the stuff that would fit right in on damn

GOD. is my least favorite song of his, if any other other GOAT-level rapper had made that ear trauma they would have been flamed for it mercilessly.

TPAB has aged so well for me, i don't really listen to it as a whole all that often but i had a phase last year where i would listen to You Ain't Gotta Lie like once a day for months lol that song absolutely rocks. Alright is still also a banger, the rest is of course good (besides i) and blacker the berry is still amazing

if you take a long break from TPAB and come back it becomes obvious it's his masterpiece

TPAB was just so technical that DAMN felt throwing darts at a board. This feels album feels to me like he didn't know what he was going for until midway through writing it. United in Grief had my hopes so high for the stylistic shift that the middle chunk was just sooooo disappointing.

I absolutely adore GOD but I can see why so many despise it hahaha

i find the lack of one ultimate style to be a major pro for this album tbh

reefa the type of dude to be like "this white dude used the n word 20 years ago that doesn't mean anything" but when a black person says the f slur they never change

I think tpab is great but I'll start it and get halfway through then stop it an listen to Gkmc or section 80 instead because I'd much rather listen to them

"That's the problem with you idiots. You put words in other peoples mouths and scream racism and then wonder why people don't take any of you leftist dipshits serious"
dog you literally keep doubling down on "go talk to a black person and you'll see they all hate gay people. and thats poggers."

gkmc is a masterpiece and will probably always be what i am most likely to listen to if i'm in the mood for kendrick. i bought it when it came out with no expectations and it changed me

Yeah I remember being in HS when GKMC came out it got so much mainstream hype that I was absolutely shocked when I listened to it. This just feels the same in the opposite way. That's the thing about the "Bangers" on here, GKMC was mostly hype energy but it's just uninspired song writing here.
