Petitioning isn't very good. I played it twice recently and it's just rly homogeneous and they clearly hadn't found their sound yet. I ain't even the biggest supporter of Jane Doe but it absolutely stomped Petitioning. It's basically the Ulver debate. A lot of fans are pissed they stopped making BM albums decades ago and others are rly happy with where their sound went. It just depends on what does it for you. I think ATF is a very natural evolution of Converge's sound and they basically perfected it on AWLWLB
Re this album: does anyone else get some yfm vibes from the Blood Moon? That might be in the running for top 10 best converge songs
