scorsese was so on-point when he said superhero movies are closer to 'theme parks' than 'films' lol

fuck superhero movies tbh

i mean they're not like 1/5 but they're all different levels of kinda bad. good special effects but for what
best one is probably 'deadpool', because at least it seems somewhat self-aware, and doesn't try to be something it's not

why does everyone blame Disney for the new star wars movies rather than the director lmao

"why does everyone blame Disney for the new star wars movies rather than the director lmao"
can't say this is the case for star wars movies, but it is known that disney executives are very protective of the brand's family-friendly image, and they meddle a lot with the stories to keep it
star wars had awful movies in its' catalog way before disney tho

True. George Lucas himself is to blame here. He ruined his own original trilogy with that shitty second trilogy. Haven't watched the new trilogy but it can't be worse than what Lucas himself did

Disney ruined Star Wars cuz they didn't know what the fuck they wanted to do from movie to movie and ended up making an incoherent abomination of nice effects
|
| |
again, one may or may not agree with your assessment of the disney star wars movies, but the franchise already had some pretty awful entries in it, so to claim that it was this set of movies that ruined it is a stronger statement

This album is absolutely incredible. Wasn't expecting it tbh considering I thought Grey Area was strong but nowhere near this.

normally I like to hear albums multiple times before deciding what I think of them but I have zero desire to hear this again. it just came across as incredibly overblown and cheese-ridden. and also British
regarding soy wars discourse, idk whether it's childhood nostalgia clouding my brain but i can never truly think of the prequel films anywhere near as negatively as they are usually regarded. sure parts haven't well at all but they aren't that bad

It’s all so corporate focus tested now. You can tell the main question is what will sell and appeal to the lowest common denominator. The Star Wars prequels suck too, don’t get me wrong. But Disney did it so much worse. At least Lucas had a complete vision to work toward with his. I get fucked up about how much of a worse A New Hope retread The Force Awakens was. And they absolutely ruined Luke’s character in the sequel. Nobody in any movie has a satisfying character arc. Still haven’t actually seen the last one but I watched a lot of YouTube reviews trashing it.
lol But yeah, I didn’t mean to derail the thread. This album is awesome on a lot of levels. So grandiose. Instant modern classic for sure.
