you should definitely hit Vulnicura - parts of that record have aged dramatically better/worse than others for me, but there's a lot of bold decisions and heart in that one, essential part of her late discog (in a way that everything since rly has not been) without necessarily being a highlight

Does it help or hurt if I didn’t like Biophilia at all?

probably neither lol, not sure what loving or hating Biophilia would mean as a yardstick for her other stuff but now am loosely curious ig
tend to forget about that record outside of its 3-4 gorgeous crystal healing tracks

imagine being a website whose lead moderator regularly exhibits this level of immaturity because someone called a band he or she liked “consistently mid”

lmao rough times ahead for sput.

hmm, I’m concerned my opinion needs updating to the point I may actually have to revisit her post-Vesp material (because it’s been a while thinking about it). I remember revisiting Med once and agreeing it has merit but not enough to pull me in for any further considerations

I used to enjoy Bio a fair amount tho, to be fair

curses, look what’s been conjured

In any case back on topic: VULNICURA is her third best. Start with DEBUT and listen in order (cowards).

Chrono is fine but maybe we should ask Johnny if that opinion is valid first before posting potentially inflammatory content like that

re-doing/vamping The Smiths chrono currently, you’d be proud

I am proud indeed. But it’s also, like, four albums lol. Five if you count HATFUL (which you absolutely should).

Chronology is only a good approach if you’re sure you actually want to complete the discography

I usually go chronologically once I’ve hit a few key albums first

But like imagine going chrono with Yo La Tengo. Terrible idea

Going chrono for Bjork is a good idea if you skip Medulla, Volta and Utopia. One could also consider jamming some Sugarcubes first.

to be clear johnny is making a reflexive joke responding to comments he deleted about how you shouldnt delete comments just because you dont like them, and is therefore being a veritably massive baby

Probably the last Bjork album I recall liking--Medulla and Vulnicura seem bloated to me, glad they have their fans but not me--and I should revisit this. Homogenic still tops for me.

Yeah the four albums thing was part of my thinking, lessens the ‘blow’ lol… not heard Strangeways or Hatful yet. Had already heard S/T / Queen previously (so no, it was not a true chrono bitch!)

Bjork is actually a great poster-girl for tect’s militant chrono stance to be fair

Hence my insistence on shoving it down everyone's collective throat.
