New album is one of the worst things I've ever heard.

I was listening to the new one yesterday and was genuinely surprised at how much I didn't like it. Not that their previous two offerings are incredible or anything, but it's definitely a step down in overall quality.

Is it just me that towards the end it feels as if a drunk Bjork was singing?

if you told me the new album was made by a popular alt rock band i would believe that. I would not be surprised if it randomly got really popular with general audiences, either. It was not particularly great tho D: just very positive and accessible.

Not surprised by the reception for the new one. I enjoyed it but its definitely a mixed bag. Second half is much better.
Planets, Clockworks, and Windhunter are amazing. Also dig the singles but everything else is pretty eh. I would even say Numb TV Superstar is borderline bad.

Planets and Clockworks are far and away the best songs on here.
I also really like Daisies and Oxygen. Add Solar Death and boom you got an easy 3.5 EP

"damn, is the new album really that bad?"
there's a solid ep in there of wildhund-esque tracks but the other 5-6 tracks are a really undercooked and bland mix of electronic and pop that do not work at all

if you told me the new one was not lantlos but a different popular alt-rock band that sells out stadiums I would not doubt you for a second. that is my review!

this is really clunky and pretty long, but i am somewhat drawn to it. the overly bright keys and synths with the more post-metal riffs are such a clash that doesn't always work. an interesting experiment. lots going on here, not all of it really melds together but some of it really does. it has grown on me on a second listen. i like the hum energy it has.
cocoon tree house was the song that made me want to return again. such a good hook, wish there was a bit more of that energy on this. first 3 songs i really enjoy. herbst is just pretty limited as a vocalist which holds me back a bit. falls off a bit in the second half but planetarium is a really pretty shoegaze song.
i can easily see how this sound could go off the rails if pushed more poppy lol. very curious about the new one now!
