"given that most pop albums have "the song with strings" or none at all"
Are you high?
|

"strings" in this context refers to orchestral strings not to stringed instruments generally (by which count piano would be included as well technically right?"
Then wtf are you including ukelele for?
U counting the bass on motive too lol

ok that might not be really true, fair enough, but arguing that this album isnt replete with orchestral strings to an extent that is unusual and almost certainly represents a conscious choice is imho denying reality
|
| |
This seems very arbitrary
|
| |
It has a couple violins, yeah

1:14 and 2:03 of "motive" has a string arrangement for those instruments. not super prominent, which I noted
|
| |

it's hard not to be biased by the first two songs I'll admit (when the intro is a strings-heavy song you can be like, "Ah, a string intro to a pop album", but then if the second song is too you start thinking, "Oh, a strings-heavy ALBUM")
|
| |
Definitely the two first tracks and title track, there is a vibe there for sure
But don't think any string urination in shit like off the table or motive tho for instance is uncommon for pop

Hilarious auto correct
