I get what you're saying but I ain't here trying to change minds at this point, I'm just taking the piss. This is a DGD thread, you really think I'm trying to legitimately beg people to bend to my will here?

Well rest assured I'm not actually expecting anyone to agree with me here Jones. If anything, I'm just relishing in the disagreement now because it's entertaining af

obvs Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children if you haven't heard, then
Susumu Yokota - Grinning Cat
Matryoshka - Zatracenie
Sweet Trip - Halica
Yeule - Serotonin II (mainly dream pop, some more ambient cuts in the backend)
Ryuichi Sakamoto - async (not relaxing and q sobering/uncomfortable at points but v excellent)
I Am A Lake Of Burning Orchids - Innocence (this is also a noise album but idk it's good)
Aoki Takamasa + Tujiko Noriko - 28 (ambient/glitch pop - not really an ambient album but also it's just the best)
anyone more into ambient than me would probably void half of these for reasons i'd agree with but idk, you'll probs dig at least a few

np. zatracenie is also not an ambient album, but ticks most of the same boxes for the purposes of this rec list so whatever

i remember when Secret Band's LP2 was sitting at a 4.2, I thought "hey might as well give it a shot, if it's THAT good..." and then I thought "eh, the Dillinger/Mars Volta sounding sections are nice to hear but nothing else sticks."
