the "my love is gooone" to "poison in my gumbo..." stretch in GONE,GONE is the best part of the entire album

"Try nickelodeon the soundtrack for more of the same"
Fucking laughed my ass off at this. Gone, Gone is kinda corny ngl

but the beat switch... the first minute is whatever. But the second part with the descending melody is sonically pleasing as f, and the rap verse is so catchy and the way it syncs up with the percussion is perfection. Call it corny if you want, it’s excellently crafted, after the best switch (and now I’m scarred for life... *SNAP*)

The second half "Thank You" is preferable to the first half to be honest lmao.
It's the lyrics on some of these songs that are lame and bother me idk why

Agreed Rowan there is a good contrast that he's found on this album.
I just wish there were more bangers like New Magic Wand and What's Good to get me throwing the fuck down in my room to ya know? The cutesy, R&B type stuff only resonates with me when I'm in a certain mood.

He’s got a good sense for chords and structure tho, which more falls into the lovey dovey side. There will always be bangers, but a Tyler album without some laid back jazz tunes or conceptual tracks would be incomplete. I definitely agree he’s at his best when he balances both sides of his personality.

I still dig the neo-soul songwriter vibe, and I know how much inspiration he takes from those types of artists and how much he looks up to them, so I still dig this record a lot. But I can see arguments against it too.
