Always thought it was interesting that The Menzingers found their "sound" approximately two years after The '59 Sound. A Lesson in the Abuse of Info doesn't sound anything like the rest of their discog post A Lesson. The Menzingers were birthed by The Gaslight Anthem imo

Nothing proven but several members of other bands accused him of creepy and inappropriate behavior. The thermals Twitter account also had a bunch of tweets with pedophile jokes. When they were brought up, hutch started blocking everyone and made the account private.

Sometimes he sounds a little similar but theyre quite different. Also saying this wouldnt exist without OTIP is ridiculous. These guys are just another sadboi emo pop punk band, there are plenty of other bands from which they could have taken influence from. Where are the OTIP-esque arppegio'd riffs and the americana-isms? And i dont remember there being keys on OTIP. Theyre not that similar.

aight so I'd like to redact some of my previous unwavering claims, listened again and I think I must've been a little confused. There's definitely a Menz influence here but not to the level that I expressed, rather there are a handful of other heavy influences. And singy boi doesn't actually sound as identical to Greg as I thought. I still can't really call them original in any way, but yeah I was a bit off base it seems
