Although that's technically true, the album as a whole is still much more satisfying than the new one.

"soft power and tyres are masterpieces.. The rest of the album is not on par with these two tracks"

Add Antimatter Animals too and I agree. The new one has less immediate highlights but as a whole it's definitely more satisfying imo, not to mention less rigid musically.

will have to reslisten the new one tbf

but I take clumsy looking, off key playing when they kept their punk nature.

The new one kept on that aesthetic with no punk feel in it. As if they want to reach some kind of later Radiohead in their sound. That said, I liked the album 2nd part in terms of emotional delivery.

For me they are even crazier in the new one, like the second half of Paradise is a delicious cacophonic mess or the second half of Happiest Guy Around. However it is a bit of a bummer that after the first four tracks it really tones it down.

I like the emotional toning down part...apparently we enjoyed it oppositely lmao I liked it at 3.5...not a bad experience at all. Just felt this more fresh/ energetic/ punkier. Sophomores are sometimes hard to pull of...and in consecutive years hits you like rests of previous effort...but time will tell...I'll go back to it.

We probably like it about the same at the end of day haha. This band has some really excellent cuts but album-wise I wish I could dig them more.

i really love the opener on this, but some tracks are grating and not in a good way.

It's so dense, every single track has so many things going on.

Every single guitar, every single drum on the album, has a digital effect.

Sorry this isn't a stripped-down indie lo-fi album with 40 minutes of repetitive chords, man
