On first listen, new one is great but not as good as this one

Agreed /for now/ but I think it has lots of room to grow, it has an incredible pacing

Saw them when they were touring this. Can't believe it's been 2 years.

New album rules. Their most melancholic with also the most aggressive outbursts. Loses its steam in the second half, but it's a grower.

here's an interview I stumbled upon the other day wherein Joe talks about the realities of being in a band unable to tour right now, among other plights. it's pretty fucking heartbreaking

Thought Michigan Hammers was fantastic when it was released as a single, but it's even better in the album context

I'm not blown away by the new one as I thought I would be, but it's still excellent

new one is probably my favourite of theirs since Under Color, really enjoying it.

few of the new songs are great in how they're made and composed, but still don't really hit that nail on its head as much as i'd want. "Tranquilizer" and "Bridge and Crown" especially. doesn't really retract from the album's brilliance and enjoyment tho

This vocal style takes some getting used to. I'm hoping it'll click for me soon, because the instrumentals are on point

Half Sister has the most perfect outro. Lovely songwriting all over this though. The unique drumming and guitar playing really make it stand out.

"Half Sister" (and a bulk of this album) is up there as one of modern post-punk's best tracks

They really are. Ultimate Success is good for what it is, but feels like such a disappoint following this one up
