I get what he means by grainy, there's definitely a lo-fi element to certain songs, and the flimsy (but in my opinion silky smooth) guitar on a bunch of tracks. The "find the time to do something" guy sounds good but definitely a little different from the song, quality wise. Then there's a lot of shit in glitter. But that's because lo-fi rockers like mac demarco we're a big inspiration of Tyler's while he made this album, the lo-fi-ness kinda just gives this alb its own unique tone
