The Grocery and The Silence are both top 5 MO songs all-time, and I think the more uptempo songs are way better than most in the band's discography. I don't know if I can say this is their best, but it's so much better than Cope it's not even funny

"I haven't been much of a fan this band has done since their debut, will I like this"

hard no, this is a "band achieving sound fully" album, not really a "massive stylistic change" album

naah, I don't think so, it's pretty much Simple Math 2017.

I don't tink the rockers suit Andy that much anyways. (although April Fool is cool)

Sleepy is how I would describe this album. Somehow Cope convinced them that loud distorted guitars are bad now. The rage is gone, the duality of loud and soft is gone and the songs are much less dynamic. This album puts andy's lyrics first and the arrangements second. This is more Right Away Great than it is Manchester Orchestra. They've lost their edge on this album. The emotion is subdued. Yes they are some good songs but it doesn't have that 'rock and that roll.'

Edit: Definitely a grower after 5 times through, starting to wake me up

I compare it to Radiohead's A Moon Shaped Pool to some extent, it's not a rocker per se, but it's a beautifully crafted album wich flows perfectly. Also, i'm very happy that it's average rating came back to a 4.4. And no, it's not sleepy by any means.

Some of the clean guitar lines do remind me of present tense.
