I feel like my critical faculties totally fall away with this guy, like I'm tasked with reviewing a Personality rather than a musician--and a personality I really don't vibe with. This feels like a total simulation of artistic growth/influence-corralling...hard to describe...

there are some good tracks on this but a few corny or boring ones too. the stylistic change is refreshing but the execution is imo hit and miss (its sorta like the new bon iver for me in that way, which i also thought was pretty overrated)
