I remember how after In Flames became a bitchy, whiny band and released their worst album to date (at that particular juncture, they outdid themselves over and over in that deparment subsequently), discovering this album and band gave me a sense of comfort that there are still great bands out there that can give me that same elation as early In Flames stuff did. ^ I feel like there's somewhat of a cycle in each era of metal when it comes to that. A once-acclaimed band gets softer and more boring, and then a replacement comes along to fill the void... I think Pantera was that band for a lot of people when Metallica started going more commercial with the black album and Load/ReLoad
