It doesn't need to be "bad" to be an immense disappointment considering everything else they have done is a 4 and up. But yeah for their standards it's shit.

yeah, that's kind of how I feel about this too. it's not bad as a stand alone piece of music but coming from Kayo Dot and their more than great past discog this is definitely a step down. thus for kayo dot, this is a bad release.

Its just a different style. I fail to see where they are any less meticulous and/or atmospherically consistent then they've been. This album sounds like its own world, as do all their others. I guess I don't see what people are so disappointed about

you can remain atmospherically consistent and meticulous and still not be good there is much more to music than that for instance if this wasnt boring as fuck it would be better.
