Eh, I don't know about it measuring up to the others, but to each their own. I'm going to listen to this a bit more, but I'm just not really feeling it.

How is this any different from the post grunge/hard rock we all love to bash?

Besides maybe some of the lyrics that can be a bit Brand New-esque?

yeah i feel the same way as sniff. i think thrice has a legacy on sputnik which contributes heavily to it. this album is pretty w.e barring 2 songs. it really does seem like the radio rock we bash for being generic

Death from Above is ok. Feel like it's being pretty hugely overrated just because the chorus sounds somewhat Vheissu-ish, but the lyrics are pretty awful and the mix makes the vocals kind of grating

I found Seneca to be the most interesting and best thing on here. That't says quite a lot how I feel about this.

I agree with that for sure. Don't know if I'd go all the way to a 4.9 but a 4.5 is definitely operative. A 3.8 doesn't do it justice that's for sure. I think too many hold this band's standards too high. Like almost like Brand New or something luls

The 3.8 is LOW. Especially if you use M/m as a reference point, as this is a huge improvement from Mm. The replay value of this record is absurd, the production is amazing, the songs are expertly crafted, Dustin sounds amazing, the guitar tones have never been better, and it highlights all the things Thrice do best. Think I have spun this about 30 times now and I can see this record standing tall next to Vheissu. Feel bad for those who can't appreciate this amazing record. I predict the rating will go up with time and this record will age beautifully.
