A good analogy to the spectrum discussion we're having, is the case of Northern Ireland where the segregation of two religious identities caused a rift and violence. But the basis of the violence wasn't for the most part in the actual theological differences between Protestants and Catholics, rather just tribalism. The terrorism that was seen there was religiously related, but it wasn't purely religious. The Palestinians is probably close to the example of Northern Ireland, where a geopolitical situation is tied to the package. But events like what we saw to day are purely religious.

I'm not sure about Hitler but yes absolutely the justification used for a lot of anti-semitism over the course of history was based in some form of Christian dogma.

no but in all seriousness, its clear that there are differing accounts of what is reality and what isnt, so we'll never come to a consensus. thats how every debate goes, political, religious, cultural, etc etc

a valid point/concer. in all honesty this type of "issue" is so heavy handed and impossible to agree on that it gets to a point where it is just not worth continuing. can be hard to not step on toes when there are so many different sized shoes hanging around
