It's alright but I'm not a huge fan of their attempts to branch out into rap verses. The R&B influences/production don't suit them well at all but when they stay in their wheelhouse it's a solid record.

can anyone who's heard the leak tell me if the rest of the album keeps up the Swoon-esque vibe that the singles had
I don't want to listen to it until my pre-order comes in but I also want to know what to expected so I won't be disappointed

couldn't wait lol
On first listen, definitely not my favorite by them. Not sure why. Some climaxes and choruses could have been more enjoyable. Bag of Bones has a pretty meh chorus, Neon Wound felt too reserved towards the end, Don't Know Yet had a good chorus but it still felt a little jarring and Straw Man was too short for what it was.
Still, every track had something I did really like about it. On a positive note, the last 4 were fucking great. Title track and closer in particular could be 2 of their best. Album as a whole definitely feels like a mix of Better Nature and Swoon. Hell, Songbirds is the most Swoon they've sounded since, making it another easy highlight.
I liked it, it just wasn't as immediately satisfying as I wanted it to be. More listens seem obviously necessary

I wish I agreed :/ it's not growing like I wanted it to. Straw Man could have been the clear highlight with a bit more time on it. I enjoy every song but Bag of Bones and Neon Wound definitely bring it down. Last 4 are still great.

Idk if any song brings this album down. Neon Wound is a banger of an opener and the 1-2 punch of the singles right after it works super well. In the latter half of the album is where it really picks up tho. The lyrics on Bag of Bones are so cute and dark, the melodies of the t/t are some of the best they've written and Songbirds sounds a ton like Busy Bees. My fav is def the closer tho, the fullest they've sounded since Mean Spirits I think. Everyone says this is like Swoon and while the vibe of swoon is def present on here, I'd say this is closer to Neck of the Woods instrumentally. It's a fairly consistent album, def a solid 4 for me and better than Better Nature which was kinda all over the place. I fear they've lost the ability to write a really intense standout track however, like Panic Switch, Well Thought Out Twinkles, Kissing Families etc. Maybe one will grow with time off this but they all are very well written just missing that extra OOMPF y'know. Maybe it's the lack of the fuzzy distortion that I still miss so much. Oh well, def better than BN and Pikul but not sure it tops their other albums.
