hawwwks ctrl + f my ratings for modern classical if you liked Max Richter. He's one of the better composers but there's so much other good stuff out there too.

Holy crap, this is incredible! Think I (mentally) accepted I'd be ordering this after about 3 minutes of the first track.

Typical, it's expensive.

Do you think Emperor's 'In the Nightside Eclipse' would be a good companion, it would 'average out' the expense & make me feel like I was getting more.

How about Somberlain?

Nightside Eclipse is very different from this, but just as good

'Somberlain' is an option, but it wouldn't average it out to the extent I wanted. I just found that Emperor one cheap by accident (when I was looking for this on Amazon). I'm being stingy, the majority of my purchases are in the £6-10 range, one £17 album isn't going to hurt long-term I guess.

If it was just good I'd sit tight for now but it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say the first 20-odd minutes completely blew me away.

Somberlain is better but both are boring.
