"Implying Skaphe is bad, oooh the irony of seeing such a comment on an album like this"

The new Skaphe is fucking terrible, agreed. Prob one of the few albums that rivals this as far as shit production is concerned as well.

Much much much better. Song writing seems a little more reserved as well but yeah the sound alone puts it above this.

sputnikmusic

where u gotta be forcefully casual and irreverent

and above all be curt and swear a lot

because writing with effort makes u look like a try-hard

and never forget to put a space between all sentences

that's two linebreaks in a row bud

If I can't tell the difference between the production on it and on dreamless on first listen then well... I probably don't give a shit about production that much

I'm not a production snob either, but I immediately heard the difference.

same here. production doesn't really make or break dm for me but good production can add a lot of depth, which this doesn't have

thankfully the music itself kicks ass

To me the big difference on TFP versus Dreamless is that TFP is instantly captivating and generally doesn't let up. Its just a "wow" album and demands full attention. Dreamless is a much more intimate affair, requiring multiple listens and immersing yourself into the atmosphere, which there is a lot more of. Also, Dreamless doesn't shred your ears.

pretty tasteless imo
could be so much heavier if the instruments were given space instead of being crammed together like this
