That said, giving it 3,5 seemed a bit too generous after several more listens. This is alright, but nothing breathtaking. Also, I get the impression that this was done a lot of times already

That actually makes sense about the Price of Existence guitar tone. I think that may be way I never liked it as much as the rest of ASP's catalog.

Creature had a lot more Death metal influence

Invade was much less guitar driven

I mean I like some generic metalcore/deathcore, but this just has no redeemable value for me. Easily the worst album I've heard this year.

I think that this has plenty of redeemable value, honestly. It's a progression from past albums, it's incredibly catchy for the genre without relying on overly processed clean vocals, and there is ton of variation between the songs.

Nothing was catchy here for me tbh. Also I wouldn't know if it's a progression cause this is my first experience with them so that might have something to do with it. Idk just not my thing I guess.

That's understandable. There are plenty of people that would argue the progression viewpoint, but I think that this is the best that WtR have sounded. I just think that they have much more of an identity on this release.

gotta agree with thelastsignal's points - still, it doesn't really amount to more than just the sum of its elements, however cliche that sounds

Maybe I'd appreciate it more if I heard their past albums, but I haven't. Oh well haha.

Xingthesullen, to me the songwriting is much better than other releases of this ilk, which may seem like a copout but I think it's much more creative than similar bands.

Hawks, you might be able to benefit from hearing the other releases in order to see the progress, but it doesn't seem worth your time if you don't like this haha.
