A little embarrassing Zak but shit, meningitis is nasty so fair play
More embarrassing, my first serious girlfriend was studying to become a student nurse and one night she was in serious pain and called an ambulance. We got to A&E and she knew nearly everyone there. 15 minutes later they quickly diagnosed it as chronic trapped wind lol. She was mortified for a week. Serves her right she'd become such a dick by this point, think 6 months later we split up, so it made me chuckle a bit.

Doof dude, how can anyone who lived through the Senser - Stacked Up years think that this is anything less than an unbelievable album?

It's a strange one, I like the band so I really don't know. I was at school when this came out and it was played a fair bit but whereas Nevermind, Angel Dust, Blood Sugar and Metallica's self titled all slayed me at the time this didn't.
It's a good listen but probably too 'big emoting anthem followed by big emoting anthem' for my tastes. 'Alive' I respected more than enjoyed. I prefer it when Eddie goes punk so Vitalogy I instantly loved, I was also massively into Yield when it came out.

Fair enough. Yep, Siamese Dream, Dirt.....Suedes debut it was all part of the halcyon years although I have to say I thought Metallica were turd back then.

I was still quite a metal kid in '91/'92, only 12 or 13 so yeah, Metallica still had power but metal was starting to fade a bit

I had a bit of a reversal with metal and didn't get into it until me early 20s. When I was 12-13 I thought it was yank machismo (Metallica) unlistenable (Slayer) total fuckin nonsense (maiden) and not that I was a pompous wanker but I thought it was immature. lol.

Yeah, at 9 or 10 years old metal was the cool thing to be into...by 13 not so much lol
I always thought Maiden were nonsense though, loads of people were into that lot, playing 'fear of the dark' and 'run to the hills' over and over again

My missus hates them with a passion. They've grown to be one of my faves. Back in the day I remember a kid from my junior school with a seventh son t-shirt. I thought it was the coolest. Years later I saw him at an alternative club prancing around in suspenders head banging to some industrial bilge. He's probably an accountant now.

Maiden tees are the coolest. I wonder if I could get away with one now? Nope, it's not worth the risk.

Zak didn't realise you're a Maiden fan, maybe I should get over the operatic vocals and give 'em a proper go.
Megadeth were always my faves and I had a Countdown to Extinction all over print tee. I still have a Sepultura tee that glows in the dark somewhere in a draw, I used to think that one was unbelievably awesome

Yep it's the operatics that took me years to get over. There is no denying that notb is one of the greatest albums of all time when you take it for what it is.
On the vocal front it's why I've never dug megadeth, dave just sounds like a whiny brat to me. Sep totally rule. I'd definitely wear a glow in the dark t-shirt of theirs.
