Well, to me this destroys The National, but I don't think they are super similar.

'guys don't you even dare compare this to the national please'

I will be honest and say I've never jammed a full National album, but what I've heard bored the ever loving fuck out of me.

This album is so glorious.

Huge fan of this band and I adore TDBB but I also love the first album and the EP, possibly for nostalgia factors (listened to those constantly in a very memorable time of my life and I'm sentimental about them). I can't deny the production issues on those albums (very very raw) but Midfield Maestro and In Excelsis Deo and Guising and Foreign Thoughts and We Were A Roman Candle are such fantastic songs.

Still listening to this on the odd occasion & it hasn't worn off at all. I'm seriously starting to think that this may be my favourite album ever.
