Halloween cover is really average, rest of ep is some of the best work AFI has produced and definitely the best of that era of their evolution.

Teaser sounds amazingly promising and light years ahead of I Hope You Suffer.

It sounds like they're bringing back some old sounds, like from Black Sails.

Which is absolutely crazy to me, Davey sounds like he did on XTRMST which in an AFI setting would actually be outstanding. I'm so excited but I don't wanna be let down.

Certainly a possibility that they took that feeling and energy they got from XTRMST and applied it to new AFI. I mean, the whole reason they formed Blaqk Audio is because they didn't want any of that seeping into AFI (though it did anyway).
Maybe at this point in their career they can't afford to keep changing things up and alienating people. It might be a good idea to marry their old sound with the new to try and make everyone happy.

Yeah I can't help but get hyped.
Like, I don't think these guys have put out a front-to-back good album in 13 years, but I still can't wait to hear what's next.

The snippets of their new songs sound pretty nice so far

I really hope I'm not disappointed because that 2nd preview sounds like an STS/CL hybrid (think Darling I Want To Destroy You) and I love it

I wanna say this album is shaping up to be so much better than Burials but 17 Crimes and A Deep Slow Panic were wonderful pre-releases and the album turned out to be a tad underwhelming.

The teasers are too short for any real conclusion right now.

GreyShadow I am completely with you, those were probably the albums two best songs and the rest was real underwhelming

I still like this album quite a bit. Only songs I don't care for are I Hope You Suffer, Rewind, and The Conductor. I think the album as a whole was just kinda lacking. None of these songs really broke onto my large favorite songs list for this band with Greater Than 84 and Anxious being the only possible contenders.

You didn't like Rewind or The Conductor? Those were some highlights for me. Conductor has such a huge guitar lead. Love it. And that thick, distorted bass! Rewind has some great moments from Davey vocal wise.

I like The Conductor, but I never feel like listening to it. I don't like the chorus in Rewind at all. It just doesn't grab me

All I've gone back to on this were 17 crimes, The Conductor and A Deep Slow Panic

Deep Slow Panic is definitely one of the best songs on the album.
