Yeah this album has a high emotional value.

Basically it's a 4+1.

"It doesn't matter. I have not checked a single note from their 80's material, so I don't have any feedback to rely on and make comparisons. Besides, 80's or 70's, it's still PF, so how bad can it be ?"

Yeah, it's still Floyd, the best band ever. It's far from being a bad album.

"Should I dig this ?"

I think you will. There's nothing bad with this one and David Gilmour's performance is excellent. It's easier to get into than a lot of their other albums too.

Good review. I just got around to reading it, sorry it took so long. I enjoyed your take on the review, though obviously our opinions on the album differ greatly. High Hopes is definitely a great tune, so I guess there we do see eye to eye.

Anyway, POS'd.

I'm actually still trying to live up to my title actually haha. but I really didn't see anything major wrong with it. It was very informative and pretty well articulated.

Top Floyd? Well it's mine even though it isn't their best, and I don't know anyone here who felt that before me. I can't pick fairly between Animals and WYWH, then Darkside, they're all equal

For me it goes:
Animals
WYWH
Meddle
Darkside

Are there any others threads you'd like to bring that up in? I get the point.

So close for me, they all have their(I shouldn't say but I feel it) let downs, that I feel are all equal overall.

Animals doesn't have any let downs for me. Neither does WYWH. That's why those two are my Floyd 5's.

@Wack

Meddle rules. Not my absolute favourite, but "Echoes" is, I think, the greatest song Pink floyd ever wrote.

Not that anyone cares, but my personal ranking goes:

Dark side

Animals

Meddle (above Wish only because "Echoes" and "Pillow")

Wish You Were Here

Piper

Wall

Saucerful

Atom

Ummagumma

- the rest vary.

In all honesty, Wish and Meddle are tied for third. Meddle takes it just barely, mainly because "Pillow" is otherworldly, and "Echoes" is just... don't even get me started.

but "Echoes" is, I think, the greatest song Pink floyd ever wrote.

Alot of people say that but still One Of These Days, Fearless, Pillow Of Winds, and San Tropez left a deep personally impacting impression. It's just the most personal PF album for me
