i don't usually check out tnd, he has one of those eccentric internet personalities i don't much care for
|
| |
Ahh well he basically goes on about how Kendrick gets more intense as the track goes on and he keeps up fiiiiiine.
|
| |
agreed. kendrick is on point the whole time. one of his best
i wonder how you're dead! will be received among critics. i can see some lauding it as a milestone and others saying it's too interlude-y or something
|
| |
But if they're gonna say that You're Dead! is too interlude-y, then they'd have to also dismiss Cosmogramma for the same reason. It's a little less interlude-y, but it's not like it's filled with properly drawn out songs.
These kind of albums really need to be judged as a whole
|
| |
fair point, but cosmogramma has more longer songs on it, whereas his new one has one near 4-min song and only one other that just barely passes the 3 min mark. it's a short ride though and it all goes so well together that i just play it front to back, with the exception of overplaying coronous
|
| |
man I have no idea how one can be a flylo fan* and not think that the new album is anything short of spectacular
it surpasses all of my ridiculously high expectations
like near perfect classic status
I'm obsessed with it; easily the best thing I've heard this year
*sorry that sounds douchey I wasn't trying to be like "hey if you're smart you'll like this if you don't like it you're dumb" etc. it was more just "hey if you knew what his past albums sounded like and could tell what direction he was going in I can't imagine anything but a reaction of omg to this"
|
| |
You're Dead! is a pretty natural progression from his previous stuff, so I also find it weird how people like his older stuff and not You're Dead!
|
| |
one of my aoty for sure. i too had unrealistic expectations that were somehow met, and then some

Album Rating: 4.5

Seriously? Theme into Dead Man's Tetris is my definite highlight

Album Rating: 4.5
dead mans tetris is straight fire... but yeh. Don't feel any reason to relisten to you're dead as a whole.
|
| |
tracks 1-5 rule wtf? dead man's tetris, tesla, never catch me - some of his best
|
| |
it's such a shame you see my violent side
|
| |
How can you not like Never Catch Me? I mean that last minute is stunningly good

yeah once again this quote next the the 4.5 for UTQC is just the most extreme juxtaposition imo
like I do not get it at all like what
holy shit Dead Man's Tetris is easily a top 3 track
combined with the Kendrick track
and the composition is just perfect... there's like this nice buildup... aclimax between those two songs 6 tracks into the album and then it just dissolves into Cosmogramma+jazz madness for forever
|
| |
I am just so confused and pity the fools who don't see the genius of YD
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.5
