I would put this slightly above In Rock and slightly below Made in Japan, but they are all personal 5s. Most songs from both Purple albums can compete with at least the first four tracks from this, and many even with the back side.

Made in Japan will always stand as Blackmore and Deep Purple's best work for me. Nothing else comes close.

Tarot Woman still has the catchiest chorus ever and the most epic synths ever

"Tarot Woman" may have one of my absolute favorite keyboard solos next to Malmsteen's "As Above, So Below" and Yes's "Close to the Edge," but that does not bring it to the level of epicness of the final two tracks here.

There are parts of the songs on here that I absolutely adore. For example, nothing can beat the epicness of Stargazer or the guitar/keys duel on A Light In The Black or the pre-chorus of Do You Close Your Eyes.

Blackmore doing the chorus with his guitar in Tarot Woman's solo = Best part of the album

I would personally prefer the "Stargazer" solo and the trade-offs between Blackmore and Tony Carey on "A Light in the Black," but that moment sure is freaking amazing as well.
