Daang. So young. I'm 5 years older than the album.

Giving it an old spin, record decreases in quality towards the end, but damn does the first half rule. Love, Hate, Love is brutal.

I Know Somethin (Bout You) is towards the end and it is easily one of the best in the album
|

Ahah I don't feel the same way man. Off the top of my head, "Love, Hate, Love", "Man In The Box" or "Sea Of Sorrow" would much more easily be some of my picks.

I really can't explain why I love this album so much. Some times I prefer this over Dirt.

Layne was amazing, a fantastic vocalist and a gentle soul. He is sorely missed.
Dirt tops the other two Alice studio albums in my opinion, but they're all 4 or higher. I also feel as if I'm a bigger fan of the self titled more than most people here, the decrease in quality in the second half of Facelift probably makes it my least favorite of the 3, but yeah as I said they're all excellent.

Great album, especially for their debut. Layne's vocals are already incredibly developed, especially (as I'm sure everyone else has said) in "Love, Hate, Love."
This has some essential AIC songs, but the hair-metal tinge to some of the later songs brings the rating down a notch or two for me. I listen to metal fairly regularly, but stuff along the lines of Motley Crue, Quiet Riot, Poison and GnR don't really do it for me. Personally, I'm glad that they shed a lot of those influences with dirt and really came into their own with Dirt (a personal favorite of mine).
