I've already checked FW (though not all of their albums) and am familiar with Watchtower, so it's not like I'm totally unaware of 80's prog metal besides QR.

It's just that I don't really listen to FW or Watchtower all that often.

And I'm also familiar with Opeth, Agalloch, and Mastodon.

But it's not like I'm the biggest prog-metal junkie around, that's what I'm meaning to say.

I'd say Awaken the Guardian is the best starting point, then just go chronologically from there

I don't think they need an entire song just handing you the concept, they should've rather incorporated it in songs like the other tunes on this
