It is very impressive that Green Day were huge in 1994 with 'Dookie' and then accidentally reinvented themselves ten years later with 'American Idiot' and became the biggest band in the world AGAIN, gaining new fans from the younger generation while giving their die hard fans a reason to listen again. That type of success does not usually happens in popular music. Unfortunately, the second coming of Green Day went to BJ's head and now he's more concerned with ego and credibility than he is with writing great songs. This whole series of albums bullshit and playing what sounds like 70s rock defeats the purpose of their incarnation. They should have called it quits while they were ahead and gone out on '21st Century Breakdown'. Not a phenomenal album, but would have been a better swansong than what we will probably see on 'Tre!'.

possibly the worst lyrical album i've ever heard. the sound is actually somewhat refreshing (i actually really like the guitar work in Kill the DJ) but the lyrics are so bad this can't be better than 2.5

I am the biggest green day fan in the world since I was 8 years old. I get upset when they write shitty material as of late. I actually like this record, but I really enjoyed this review. I mean if you're going to bash it, be right about it. i think this was pretty fucking spot on. I'm basically a fan boy so it's tough for them to do wrong for me. i'll find the good in just about everything other than the REALLYY bad tracks. great review though I laughed quite a bit.

Kill the DJ's title reminds me of The Smith's song Panic. Except that song didn't suck.

Never heard the album. Not a single second. But I'm giving it a five for spawning the review and the epic thread that followed. Tears in my eyes
