to be honest, the seer is a pretty underwhelming track. didn't really have a point b, not really worth the 32 minutes.

That's how I felt at first, but now i'm really attached to it. I know it's aimless most of the time but it's kind of like spending your time in another world...I don't know how to explain it actually

For longtime Swans fans however, this is what you have been waiting for: a magnum opus signifying everything that the band has been and everything that it likely ever will be.

+

Swans have managed to create that comprehensive, large-scale album without stumbling into the pitfalls of relying too heavily on their past.

serously how do you make comments like these when you havent even heard any of the stuff that put this band on the map in the first place?? reading this was like reading kingsobs zelienople review namedropping bands that have nothing in common with whats being reviewed and generally not knowing anything about the genre in question

when you namedrop something like godspeed in here, anyone whos never listened to swans before will go in with the expectation of something holding similarities to godspeed and everyone whos heard previous swans will know youre full of shit and that you have no idea what youre talking about

yeah i always find it strange when people who supposedly love 1 or 2 albums from a bands discog don't bother checking out the rest

i remember sowing raving about the album before this so he's had time to do it

Some of the comments on this page are IQ-droppingly stupid.

You don't need to listen to a bands entire discography to have perspective
